Meet Ari’Ton B. Scales, MS, LMHC
Helping others has always been at the heart of Ari'Ton's purpose. While she knew from a young age that she wanted to make a positive impact in people's lives, her journey ultimately led her to the mental health field.
After earning her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Florida Atlantic University, Ari'Ton began her career as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), working closely with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families. Through these experiences, she developed a deep appreciation for the resilience of both children and parents as they navigate life's challenges. Witnessing meaningful growth and progress inspired her desire to help families maintain that success beyond behavioral interventions.
Driven by a passion for supporting individuals on a deeper level, Ari'Ton continued her education at Nova Southeastern University, where she earned a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. During her graduate training, she completed her internship at a behavioral health hospital, providing support to children, adolescents, adults, and older adults facing mental health and substance use challenges.
Throughout her career, Ari'Ton has worked across multiple settings, including hospitals, community-based programs, private practice, and schools. These diverse experiences have strengthened her ability to meet clients where they are and provide individualized care tailored to their unique needs.
Her clinical approach is rooted in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), behavioral interventions, and strengths-based approaches. Ari'Ton works with a diverse population and specializes in supporting individuals.
"Therapy is hard work, but it is worth it. Healing takes time, and growth is not always comfortable. There may be moments when you leave a session feeling emotionally drained or challenged—not because therapy isn't working, but because you are finally confronting things you've carried for a long time. Every step of the journey matters, and each step deserves to be acknowledged and appreciated."
